Dr. Alexa McAneney, DMD
New Patient & Restorative and Cosmetic Dentist at Total Care Dental & Wellness
Dr. Alexa McAneney is a Utah native, who grew up in Cedar City, Utah and wanted to be a dentist ever since she was a kid. She used to put her sister in the recliner, drag a lamp over for the light, and would brush her teeth to “play dentist.”
Dr. McAneney (Dr. Mac to her coworkers and patients) graduated from Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. She took a very active role in her training, and received several awards for Clinical Excellence.
Dr. McAneney spent the first few years of her career in Colorado before returning to Utah to be closer to family. While having a great experience, she always felt like there was something missing. She knew she wanted to offer her patients more in a way that just was not possible in corporate dentistry.
She felt the connection between oral health and systemic health was undeniable and she had a growing desire to be at a place like Total Care Dental & Wellness where that connection is the primary focus.
Dr. McAneney's Approach to Dentistry
Dr. Mac found a passion and love for restorative and cosmetic dentistry in dental school, and started continuing education before graduating to advance her skills.
She completed Crown Council’s Young Dentist Program and the New Dentist Program with the Dr. Dick Barnes Group.
In 2023 she was named Crown Council’s Young Dentist of the Year. Learning, growing, and perfecting her skills in restorative and cosmetic dentistry is a priority, however never at the expense of total body health and wellness.
She strives to fit the pieces of the puzzle together for her patients so together they can not only create a smile that they love, but can help them feel well too! She looks forward to meeting her patients and helping them achieve their dental, health, and wellness goals.

When Dr. Mac isn’t doing dentistry, she enjoys doing one of her many hobbies. She can often be found spending time outside running, hiking, skiing, gardening and camping (especially with her family in Southern Utah. The views and sunsets here are unbeatable!).
If she’s not lost in a good book, Dr. Mac loves traveling, live music and concerts, trying new foods, and a game night or get together with family and friends.
