Get to Know Dr. Michelle Jorgensen and Dr. Justin Libby

Have you ever wanted to get to know your dentist before trusting them with your smile?

Having served for years in other practices, Drs. Michelle Jorgensen and Justin Libby found that they wanted something different and better for their patients. Total Care Dental was founded in 2001 with the simple idea that dentistry should mean more than a force-fed teeth fixing. It should feel comfortable and convenient, like an enjoyable visit to a neighborhood friend.

With Total Dental Care they have created a dental practice that people can truly enjoy visiting—a practice that specializes in delivering excellent dental care with a special attention to personal service every day.

For both doctors, dentistry is not only their profession—it is their hobby and their passion as well!

    Dr. Michelle Jorgensen

Dr. Michelle JorgensenDr. Michelle C. Jorgensen attended Brigham Young University for undergraduate studies, then graduated with her dental degree from Creighton University in 1997. She practiced in a successful Utah Valley practice – Timpanogos Dental, until 2001.

She has learned from dental leaders throughout the country, in areas such as porcelain veneers, conservative dental bonding and other cosmetic dental procedures. She has completed a five-part continuum on dental occlusion and rehabilitative dentistry, learning to treat jaw and bite problems and rebuild healthy mouths. She is also a graduate of Dental Boot Kamp- a program emphasizing communication and patient care.

Dr. Jorgensen has completed the requirements for a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also actively involved in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and evaluates new products in the dental field for CRA (Clinical Research Associates). She serves as a guest lecturer in the Brigham Young University pre-dental program and a Crest-sponsored speaker about the impact of a smile on women’s lives.

Dr. Jorgensen is also featured on a weekly segment on Healthy Wealthy WOW reality radio for women.

Dr. Jorgensen has been married to Steve Jorgensen for 12 years, and they have twin five year old boys – Jens and Josh. Steve is a Civil Engineer, and currently serves as the office manager at Total Care Dental. Dr. Jorgensen loves to garden and cook – her family wonders if she will ever cook the same thing twice! Her latest hobby is yoga.

    Dr. Justin Libby

Dr. Justin Libby was born and raised in the beautiful state of Alaska. He attended undergraduate school in Washington state than moved back to Alaska to operate a commercial fishing business he and his brother established. After two years of running the fish business full-time, Dr. Libby was excited to pursue dentistry as a profession, and graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. His dedication to dental excellence and to understanding the value of having mentors led him to create the first student led mentor circle at Loma Linda School of Dentistry. “It was called Libby’s Lunch and Learn and our motto was simple; to ask, teach, give and inspire!” Dr. Libby invited the nation’s top dentists and business people to share their experiences and inspire the students at LLUSD.

Dr. Libby’s passion for dentistry and serving people has taken him to Fiji, Nepal, Bangladesh, Africa, Peru and the continental U.S. on dental service trips. During these trips he and his team treat the immediate needs of as many people as possible. While at LLUSD, Dr. Libby actively participated and helped organize “Clinic with a Heart,” a school sponsored one-day-event in which the entire school would volunteer and treat the underserved members of the community at no charge.

Because of his advanced clinical awareness and commitment to his patients, Dr. Libby received “Advanced Senior Clinical Honors” during his senior year at LLUSD. Dr. Libby was one of the first students at LLUSD to be trained using the CERAC CAD/CAM machines and has had advanced restorative training in gold foil, laser procedures, as well as Anterior Bonded Porcelain Restorations. As a student member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, he was one of three senior dental students asked to present a “smile-makeover case” to the faculty at LLUSD.

For the past four years, Dr. Libby has been a member of one of the nation’s top dental organizations, “The Crown Council.” Many of the nation’s best, most advanced dentists belong to the Crown Council network. Here dentists share ideas with each other and are committed to treating every patient with the best care available.

When Dr. Libby is not pursuing his passions in dentistry he is actively seeking them outdoors either solo or with his soul-mate Katie. He loves to ride bikes, either on the road or in the mountains, fly airplanes, kite board, surf, camp, fish, run, ski, play with his four-year old chocolate lab “Bentley” and tinker on machines. Two interesting facts about Dr. Libby is that he has played the piano for 10 years and has two high school basketball state championship rings!
